On Tuesday, October 29, we celebrated a monumental step forward for our city and its waterways with the groundbreaking of LYHBeyond: the Blackwater CSO Tunnel Project! This is Lynchburg’s largest capital project to date, designed to protect the Blackwater Creek and James River and reduce combined sewer overflows by 98%.🌍💧 Mayor Reed, City Manager Wynter Benda, Lynchburg Water Resources Director Tim Mitchell, and other honored guests were in attendance to mark this historic occasion.
