Excited to share Greening Youth Foundation COO, Shatiba A. Bradley, MBA Bradley, and Programs Director, Mikeriya K. Bond, representing GYF at the Atlanta Beltline Brand Launch Event. This event marks a significant milestone in the Beltline’s journey towards its 2030 completion, introducing a refreshed visual identity and a more interactive website. The new brand, led by the "Beacon" logo, reflects Atlanta's vibrant communities and the BeltLine’s role in connecting over 45 diverse neighborhoods through trails, arts, culture, and sustainability initiatives. Greening Youth Foundation remains a proud partner, dedicated to supporting the Beltline’s mission of fostering inclusive, equitable, and sustainable urban spaces. As the Beltline continues to grow, we look forward to creating even more opportunities for youth engagement and environmental stewardship along its 22-mile loop. Immerse yourself in the rich legacy of WWII, gain unparalleled professional experience, and contribute to impactful educational initiatives in a prestigious national setting. Position: Interpretation Intern – Rosie the Riveter/WWII Home Front National Historical Park Location: Rosie the Riveter/WWII Home Front National Historical Park, Richmond, CA Duration: 36 weeks Compensation: $19/hour, Full-time (40 hours/week) Responsibilities: - Learn about the history and features of the Rosie the Riveter/WWII Home Front National Historical Park. - Greet visitors at the Visitor Center and provide accurate information. - Perform operational duties. - Research and present public interpretive programs. - Assist with special programs and offsite events. - Answer questions in person and on the phone. - Help park rangers lead school groups for educational programs. Looking to jumpstart your career in public service and conservation? 🌿 The Greening Youth Foundation, in collaboration with the American Conservation Experience (ACE) and the National Park Service, is offering a unique opportunity to work as an Interpretation Intern at the Eugene O'Neill National Historic Site. Gain hands-on experience while contributing to educational and interpretive programs in a historic and dynamic setting! Position: Interpretation Intern – Eugene O'Neill National Historic Site Organization: Greening Youth Foundation Location: Eugene O'Neill National Historic Site, Danville, CA Duration: 30 weeks Compensation: $19/hour, 24 hours/week Summary: The American Conservation Experience (ACE), in partnership with the National Park Service (NPS) and the Greening Youth Foundation, is seeking a part-time Interpretation Member to contribute to interpretive projects at the Eugene O'Neill National Historic Site. The intern will assist with interpretive and educational programs, provide visitor services, and participate in special events. Interns will also support operations at the Port Chicago Naval Magazine National Memorial. Responsibilities: - Learn about the history and features of the Eugene O'Neill National Historic Site. - Perform operational duties. - Research and present public interpretive programs. - Assist with special programs and offsite events. - Answer visitor questions in person and on the phone. - Conduct research related to the site. Benefits: - Living allowance: $660/week, dispersed bi-weekly. - Potential eligibility for Public Land Corps Hiring Authority upon completion of the term. - Professional development and networking opportunities. - Specific National Park Service training and orientation. Announcing Our Elite Cohort of International Climate Fellows! We are thrilled to introduce the exceptional fellows of our International Climate Fellowship (ICF) program. This transformative 6-month program is designed to empower young adults with hands-on experience in the climate sector, coupled with international travel to foster diversity and global collaboration. Meet Our Fellows: Shamaria Mozone Born and raised in Augusta, Georgia, Shamaria is a recent graduate of Howard University, where she earned her B.S. in Biology and Chemistry. She has participated in research through internships with The Greening Youth Foundation, including roles at the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Cape Lookout National Seashore. Rebekah Miller Hailing from Terre Haute, Indiana, Rebekah studied Biology and Environmental and Sustainability Studies at Indiana University. Her extensive experience in developing programs for underrepresented youth and promoting environmental education makes her a valuable addition to our team. Thailer Ragland A recent graduate from Morehouse College with a BS in Physics and a Minor in Mathematics, Thailer comes from Memphis, TN. His passion for the intersection of science, technology, activism, and policy is reflected in his work in aerospace research, energy projects, and community organizing. Alexandria Brodie Alexandria Brodie, known as Alex, is thrilled to be a 2024 GYF International Climate Fellow. With 7 years of experience in agriculture, environment, education, and community engagement, she is dedicated to impactful environmental work. Courtney Camp Courtney is an interdisciplinary ecologist whose work is rooted in research and advocacy at the intersection of environmental and climate justice and Black spatialities and geographies. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Forest Resources with a concentration in Wildlife Sciences and a Minor in Anthropology from the University of Georgia. Busayo Okeshola Olubusayo "Busayo" Okeshola is a junior political science student at Howard University with a strong passion for environmental policy research. He has learned from brilliant economists at the University of Chicago and been mentored by Howard's distinguished political scientists. Are you passionate about environmental conservation and community beautification? Do you have leadership experience and a desire to mentor young adults? Join us at the Greening Youth Foundation (GYF) as the Team Lead for our Urban Forestry Career Pathways Program (UFOR)! Key Responsibilities: - Lead and manage a team of young adults participating in the Atlanta Beltline Tree Planting Program. - Oversee daily operations, ensuring the safe and effective completion of tree planting and maintenance activities. - Coordinate with Trees Atlanta partners to deliver hands-on training and arborist skill development. - Facilitate professional and personal development training sessions. - Monitor and evaluate program participants' progress, providing guidance and support as needed. - Maintain accurate records of program activities, participant progress, and project outcomes. - Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and procedures. - Act as a liaison between GYF, Trees Atlanta, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth program execution. Qualifications: - Proven experience in a leadership role, preferably in environmental conservation, arboriculture, or a related field. - Strong knowledge of tree planting, pruning, and general arborist skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to mentor and support young adults from underserved communities. - Strong organizational and project management skills. - Commitment to environmental preservation and community beautification. - CPR and First Aid certification (preferred but not required).
