The amount of support from our community and neighboring states to donate, collect, and distribute needed disaster relief, emergency, and medical supplies for people devastated by Hurricane Helene has truly been amazing. Our pilot community has reportedly delivered 700k pounds of supplies by fixed wing and helicopter to areas that were not easily accessible by vehicles. The helicopters volunteers are reaching areas that are completely cut off. All this started with a simple social media post asking for others to help by our newest tenant, Happy Helicopter Tours. AOPA thank you for telling the story of how General Aviation makes a difference. Greenville Aviation, Special Services Corporation, #happyhelicoptertours, USAeroFlight, DoubleDay Aviation

About us
The Greenville Downtown Airport (GMU) is the busiest General Aviation airport in South Carolina. Our goal is to meaningfully connect with our community. The community corridor creates a great area for families to enjoy the airport and watch planes take off and land. Play in Runway Park, grab good eats at The Runway Park Cafe, learn about military history at the The Military History Center of the Carolinas Museum, take a chartered ride around the city, or learn to fly. Promoting aviation and development while helping the state achieve its economic development goals since 1928. Plan a visit and come see us.

The Foreign Object Debris (FOD) walk on Saturday, August 17, was a fantastic time to walk the runway and help keep our pilots and pedestrians safe. Foreign objects were identified and the best ones got prizes awarded. We had over 120 people attend and we want to grow this annual event more next year. It is all about sharing our love of aviation with the community and safety awareness. #foreignobjectdebris #FODwalk #gmu #communitycorridor #aviationsafety James D. The long awaited sign face replacement has begun. Racing against a pretty good storm yesterday and potential rain today the Ops team managed to knock out taxiway Alpha. #lumacurveairfieldsigns #airportoperations

It is because of their continuous support and generosity that allow us to educate and bring aviation to the next generation. The goal for this year is new playground equipment and covered seating.
