🔔 CPSC Recall Alert – Siemens Recalls SolarReady Meter Combos Due to Fire Hazard 🔥 Siemens Industry Inc. of Alpharetta, Georgia announced a recall of about 3,910 SolarReady Meter Combos manufactured in Mexico and sold by electrical distributors nationwide from August 2021 through April 2024. These solar meters serve as connection points between an electric utility power supply, a rooftop solar system, and the main electrical panel serving a home. It contains the main breaker service disconnect for the whole home’s power and could contain the circuit breakers for the entire home or part of the home. An interior connection in the recalled solar meters can overheat, posing a fire hazard. As of August 22, 2024, Siemens has received 8 reports of overheating, including one report of a localized fire. #firehazard #recall #productliability #subrogation

🔔 CPSC Recall Alert – Samsung Recalls Slide-In Electric Ranges Due to Fire Hazard 🔥 Samsung Electronics America Inc. of Ridgefield Park, New Jersey announced a recall of over one million Samsung electric slide-in ranges manufactured in Thailand and sold at Best Buy, Costco, The Home Depot, Lowe’s, and other appliance stores nationwide and online at Samsung.com from May 2013 through August 2024. The burner control knobs on the front of the ranges can be activated by accidental contact by humans or pets, posing a fire hazard. As of August 8, 2024, Samsung has received over 300 reports of unintentional activation of the front-mounted knobs by humans or pets, and these ranges have been involved in approximately 250 fires. At least 18 fires caused extensive property damage. Approximately 40 injuries have been reported, 8 of which required medical attention, and there have been reports of 7 fires involving pet deaths. #firehazard #recall #productliability #subrogation
