    Evolving market dynamics have made content much more valuable in recent years. B2B buyer behavior has changed drastically. Today's B2B buyers are more self-sufficient, preferring to do their own research before engaging with sales. That means that much of the buying journey happens long before a sales rep ever gets involved. And THAT means content is now the main way to build trust and guide prospects, even for enterprise deals. Social media posts, videos, articles — content is no longer just for conversion or just for awareness — they can directly influence large transactions. Marketing departments are being asked to function essentially as media companies, producing huge volumes of excellent content for a wide range of purposes, from top-of-funnel to sales enablement to customer education to new-hire training and everything in between. So, it can be helpful to think of a marketing department as a media company because it provides a different lens when considering what resources, tools, and workflows the marketing team needs in order to hit its goals. If you're going to ask your marketing team to deliver content output comparable to what a media company would distribute, then you need to equip your marketing team the same way, or you aren't doing your job as a leader. #MarketingStrategy #B2BBuying #MediaCompanyMindset

    Such a solid point! Data is important, but drowning in it can totally paralyze decision-making. It’s easy to think more data equals better decisions, but sometimes it just creates endless delays.     Sure you need data and insights to inform your decisions, but you don't need ALL the data. Data can easily become a burden, both emotionally and practically. Everyone's busy. Crunching through data is not how most can afford to spend their day. Data - both the lack of and an abundance of it - is also causing anxiety: "I'm deeply afraid that somewhere, there is more data I could have gathered and looked at before making a decision". This results in delaying action, sitting on a decision, and making no progress at all. Research without action is just a cost. There's a time and place for caution—like when you're pondering a pivot—but most decisions have far fewer consequences and are easily reversible. Research doesn't need to answer every question. A single insight can be enough. If you're running a survey with more than 10-15 questions, you're already likely trying to do too much. Analysis paralysis awaits. Be less scared of imprecision. Decide on one to three business questions to answer per research initiative. Get the data and insights tomorrow, and make a decision the next day. New-era research tools like Wynter are made for this. Decision-making is progress.
