About us
The Global Social Service Workforce Alliance works toward a world where a well-planned, well-trained and well-supported social service workforce effectively delivers promising practices that improve the lives of vulnerable populations. The mission of the Alliance is to promote the knowledge and evidence, resources and tools and political will and action needed to address key social service workforce challenges, especially within low- to middle-income countries. The Alliance is led by a globally representative Steering Committee, Secretariat comprised of five staff and 10 Alliance Ambassadors. The network is comprised of 2000 members within 131 countries across across sectors and stakeholder groups. Membership is free and open to anyone interested in supporting efforts to strengthen the social service workforce.

Yerima's motivation to become a #socialworker stems from his own experience of losing his father & mother at a young age. He notes it was extremely challenging and left him without a critical role model.
