Amazing to see his passion for roadway safety and his drive to bring more awareness to addressing broken guardrails not only in his state, but in the entire country. Battelle Transportation Engineer Rama Boyapati will present a poster on roadside worker safety at the 2024 Transportation Research Board annual meeting. "The Effectiveness of Guardian Angel Wearable Safety Light on Roadside Worker Visibility and Conspicuity" details a controlled test track study indicating that Guardian Angel Devices lights increase the visibility of roadside workers and influence safer driving behaviors beyond a standard safety vest. A new, peer-reviewed study from Battelle found drivers are far more likely to move over and/or slow down when they see a worker wearing an Elite Series™ safety light along with a vest. On top of that, drivers saw the worker nearly five times sooner than when wearing only a vest. It's time to rethink roadside safety.
