  • We celebrated the incredible journeys of four women at their home dedications today. These women have worked tirelessly to achieve their dream of homeownership, showing us all what is possible through determination and partnership. At each home dedication, we present symbolic keys engraved with words like Hope, Dream, Faith, and Strength—qualities that Jesenia, Yisenia, Sharina, and Mildred not only embody, but also inspire in those around them. Today was a true celebration of houses becoming homes, and we are so grateful to be a part of their journeys. Congratulations!💙🏡

  • Happy 100th Birthday to President Jimmy Carter! 🎂 As a longtime advocate for affordable housing, Jimmer Carter has been a devout supporter of Habitat for Humanity since its inception. His dedication and commitment to affordable housing has inspired millions of Habitat volunteers and supporters around the world. Thank you for your lasting impact and for showing us all what it means to build a better future, one home at a time! 🏘

  • Join us in celebrating #InternationalWeekoftheDeaf by reflecting on Audrey and Alberto's journey to homeownership! International Week of the Deaf is a global celebration that takes place during the last week of September each year to raise awareness about deafness, sign language, and the rights of deaf people. At their home dedication, Audrey, a deaf American Sign Language teacher, and her partner Alberto signed “I really love you” while holding their symbolic key engraved with the word “strength.” Together, they completed more than 741 hours of sweat equity, helping 21 other families in Habitat’s Affordable Homeownership Program. Their story reminds us to be the hand that lifts others up. 🤝 💚

  • We are thrilled to share that Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties has been allocated a $50 million CDBG-DR grant! This morning, Lee County Commissioners unanimously approved our grant application for these federal funds, which were allocated by HUD. This grant will support the development of single-family homes in five communities, totaling 262 new homes! As we mark nearly two years since #HurricaneIan, we are grateful for the trust placed in us to aid in long-term recovery. Since this grant is a reimbursement-based funding, your continued support is critical to keep the momentum going. Let's continue to build together!💪🔨🏘

  • After 22 years and more than 250,000 miles, Steve decided to donate his beloved 2001 F150 Ford truck to Habitat’s #CarsforHomes program. This truck helped him build homes across Southwest Florida, and now it will keep giving by supporting local families. Steve’s generous donation ensures more dreams will be built in our community. Thank you, Steve! 🚗 🏠 If you’re looking for a way to make a lasting impact, consider donating your vehicle to Habitat's Cars for Homes program! Learn more: https://lnkd.in/ex3Agvss

  • After losing everything in #HurricaneMaria, Giovanny and Linda relocated from Puerto Rico to Cape Coral for a better life. But just a week after moving into a duplex, #HurricaneIan struck, damaging their roof and causing their son's room to leak every time it rained. In partnership with Habitat for Humanity, they now have a safe, stable home close to everything they need. From the start, they say they were met with respect and empathy from our team- a level of support they’ll never forget. Guided by faith and a desire to lift as they climb, Linda went above and beyond, contributing more than 1,000 hours of sweat equity on our construction sites and in our wall-building warehouse. Watch their story, made and told by Giovanny and Linda themselves.

  • A hot summer day is nothing for these Florida Gulf Coast University Eagles! Thank you to the FGCU Softball team for coming out to volunteer in Lehigh Acres!🦅 ☀️The team wrapped not one, but three homes in Tyvek-blue boards and insulation. Their hard work will ensure these future homes are protected from moisture and air, all while setting the stage for window and door installations. We appreciate these incredible athletes for bringing their A-game both on and off the field! You’ve helped build brighter futures for our Habitat families.💙💚 Read more about their involvement: https://lnkd.in/eHkdUi-4

  • Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre has been a strong supporter of our mission for over 20 years. However, they recently took their partnership to the next level by sponsoring their first Habitat home! Their team joined us to raise the walls on July 27, putting in the physical work to help make affordable housing a reality in our community. We’re so grateful for their ongoing support, both through donations and hands-on volunteering. Together, we’re building a brighter future for families in need! 🏘🌟 By becoming a home sponsor, you can have a life-changing impact on the lives of community members! Learn more about our sponsorship opportunities by contacting the VP of Resource & Development, Elisha Baird, at ElishaB@habitat4humanity.org.
