Habitat WJC builds affordable homes for families who are unable to purchase a home through traditional methods.
About us
Habitat for Humanity of Waukesha & Jefferson Counties builds decent, affordable homes with families who are unable to purchase a home through traditional methods. Habitat does not give houses away; we believe in giving a hand up, not a handout. By providing a home with an affordable mortgage, homeowners obtain self-sufficiency and break the cycle of poverty. We believe it takes a community to build a community, so we hope you will join in supporting our mission. Partner families contribute "sweat equity" hours per adult to take the place of a down payment. Volunteers contribute time and talent to reduce labor costs. Our ReStore revenue, sponsorship, and donations help to reduce construction costs. Habitat Waukesha is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

John Nelson, a U.S. Marine Corps Vietnam veteran, reached out to us in hopes he could join our home preservation program. He and his "beautiful bride" as he lovingly calls his wife Bonnie, live in the same home where they raised their 4 kids. Bonnie is currently undergoing breast cancer treatments and her health was a priority to the family. They knew their roof needed attention, but did not have the means to take on such an extensive project. Check out the story here on TMJ4 News!

When Jerry Manke reached out to us he was in desperate need of a critical home repair. He decided to reach out us and allow us to help him restore his home through our Home Preservation program. In partnership with Modern Exterior, the work on Jerry's home was completed, allowing him to continue living in his own home while breathing new life into it in an affordable way.
