The City’s request for a 3% reduction on contract invoices unfairly burdens small and diverse-owned businesses, threatening financial stability, jobs, and fair contracting practices. HACIA, alongside the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) and Illinois Road & Transportation Builders Association (IRTBA), strongly opposes this harmful measure. HACIA, in collaboration with the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) and the Illinois Road & Transportation Builders Association (IRTBA), has voiced concerns to the City of Chicago regarding the recently requested 3% contract fee reduction. While presented as voluntary, this request places undue pressure on both prime vendors and subcontractors, particularly small and minority-owned businesses. We need your support! Yesterday marked the first day of our Assistant Project Engineer (APE) Program, where participants began their journey in Technical Skills, Financial Literacy, Career Readiness, and Soft Skills training. This program equips future industry leaders with the knowledge they need, including the opportunity to earn their Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification from PMI!
