These reforms will help small and minority-owned businesses receive timely payments and ensure financial stability in the construction industry. Great news! The Only Retain For a Reason coalition took a big step forward today as our bill passed out of committee! This milestone wouldn't have been possible without the dedication of our partners! As the lead organization behind this effort, HACIA is proud to have worked alongside Chicagoland AGC, FEDERATION OF WOMEN CONTRACTORS (FWC) and Black Contractors Owners and Executives (BCOE) to push for a change that could result in a major cash flow boost—potentially $100M annually—for Illinois employers building public projects, all at no cost to taxpayers. A huge thank you to Chair Diane Blair-Sherlock and Rep. Will Davis for championing this important initiative. We celebrate a major win on the path to financial relief for contractors across Illinois!
