Supervisor McGuire and staff joined with State Representative Fred Crespo yesterday to host Dr. Sameer Vohr, Director of the Illinois Department of Public Health for a tour of the Food Pantry and to talk about the Township's programs and services. A great opportunity for us to discuss our response during COVID and areas for partnership, collaboration, and assistance!

The Hanover Township Mental Health Board met last night and heard from several agencies requesting annual funding. Board members inquired as to the programs and services that would be offered and of benefit to Township residents. Board Secretary Michelle Esquivel was sworn in following reappointment by the Township Board. New member Maria Wywialowski was also sworn in by Clerk Dolan Baumer. The Board approved a Staff Development Funding request from Community Alternatives Unlimited for staff to receive training on assisting individuals with disabilities. The Mental Health Board meets again on November 18 at 6:30PM at the Senior Center.

Department Spotlight: Administrative Services Location: Town Hall (Bartlett) The Department of Administrative Services consists of the Office of the Administrator, Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Resident Services. The Office of the Administrator’s primary responsibility is to ensure effective implementation of Township Board policies through efficient professional management of all aspects of township government. The Township Administrator serves as the organization’s Chief Administrative Officer and in this capacity is responsible for administration, coordination, and management of all township services and employees. The Deputy Township Administrator coordinates all department services. Accounting includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and investment monitoring. Human Resources encompasses recruitment and orientation, employee training and development, risk management, benefits administration, and employee relations. The Assistant to the Administrator coordinates Information Technology support with an external provider and facilitates computer hardware and software upgrades. The Resident Services Office is responsible for offering hunting and fishing licenses, handicap parking placards, license plate renewal vehicle stickers, and serves as a U.S. passport acceptance facility. Resident Services staff are also cross trained as Deputy Assessors and may assist in the Office of the Assessor. Hanover Township Emergency Services closing the book on September 2024! 15 incidents/Call Outs: 7 Fire Assistance 2 Traffic Management 2 Search & Rescue 2 Public Assistance 1 Scene Lighting 1 Accident Extrication A total of 1,649 hours were recorded by 26 volunteers for the month of September responding to call outs, events, attending trainings, or providing station coverage.
