Delivering happiness to hospitalized, homeless and all children facing crises in need of a boost of HOPE!

About us

The Message of Hope Foundation was founded in 2011 by Emi Burke, born out of a desire to bring hope and happiness to hospitalized children with special needs or chronic and life-threatening illnesses. A parent of a profoundly disabled young son often requiring intensive services, Mrs. Burke was moved to action after witnessing other young hospitalized children undergoing treatment with nothing to engage them or distract from long hospital stays. A physician described the extent to which families invest their resources in expensive treatments as they strive to save the lives of their children, leaving little for small luxuries such as coloring books, crayons or other engaging and uplifting activities. Five years later, the Message of Hope Foundation has inspired hope and resiliency in thousands of children, achieved through the generous support of numerous national corporate sponsors and dedicated community volunteers. The foundation’s signature Happy Hope Bags are a boost of hope for children who are hospitalized, regardless of their illness or disability, providing hours of activities that help to take a child's mind off of their treatment or illness. A great privilege of working at Amazon Web Services (AWS) is being given the opportunity to volunteer and give back to the community. Today my colleagues and I spent the afternoon organizing and assembling winter care packages for hospitalized children. I hope these bring hope and warmth, along with happiness and joy for the affected children this holiday season. Director @ Guidehouse | Commercial Health IT Advisory

In the bustle of a successful year, taking #holiday time to wind down and relax is essential. But we also need to find time to give something back. As a #remotework team spread out throughout the US, we wanted to make sure we did something where everyone in Guidehouse Health #IT #Solutions could feel engaged, have fun, and give something back to their communities. Cate Ciccolone and our incredible #leadership team came up with a great idea of giving back to the #healthcare community the way we know best - working through the hospitals that Guidehouse works so closely with and engaging with the Happy Hope Factory. We spent time this week building #toy kits for Atrium Health Levine Children's and University of Rochester #Golisano #Childrens #Hospital (University of Rochester Medical Center ) Coloring cards for kids, building craft snowmen, and packing up toys is different than working with the latest #cybersecurity or #AI solution, but its the least we can do to give back our time and ourselves. • Whether it’s coming together for the holidays or as part of a year-round commitment to giving back, we are profoundly moved by the unwavering kindness of every volunteer who joins us in our mission of spreading hope and joy. The children we serve each year carry stories that touch the heart—stories of resilience, courage, and dreams yet to be fulfilled. Every act of compassion reminds them that they are cherished and supported by their community. Today, we proudly honor our friends at Guidehouse for going above and beyond, bringing light and delivering priceless smiles to children who need it most. Your dedication is truly a beacon of hope, and we are endlessly grateful for the difference you make. Echo Schneider Emi Burke Wendy Webster Cate Ciccolone

Managing Consultant, Guidehouse - Epic EHR, AI, Project Management, and beyond! #Unicorn

🎄Cate Ciccolone and Happy Hope Factory brought the giving magic to our #remote Guidehouse Health team ❄️ I missed getting to do it live with my team (I made up for it after work watching my favorite Grinch movie), but we each got to assemble Happy Hope kits that were colored, crafted, and assembled with love holiday kits for children. 🎁 How cool are these?! And what a fun way to give back, even through a team spread coast to coast (looking at you Ariella Nathanson and Erik Pupo). Thanks to all of our amazing #HITS team who participated in making kits this week. May you find fun ways to share love, joy, and hope this holiday season and beyond 💜 #HappyHopeFactory #TeamBuilding #Joy #Love #Christmas #Holidays #GiveBack #Guidehouse #Adventures4RealLife 🦄 #EpicLife #WomenInTech

Honoring Dr. King's legacy through service and compassion Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts mobilized volunteers to create kindness activity kits for hospitalized children with special needs or chronic, life-threatening illnesses in Massachusetts, Texas and Georgia. The initiative brought associates together to make a meaningful impact, spreading joy and hope to young patients in need. We also had members of our Black Professionals Network ERG volunteer at the Embrace Gala, and who played a key role in the success of this incredible event. Their contributions not only reflected the spirit of service, but also highlighted the strength and commitment of our ERG community. Happy Hope Factory Emi Burke Embrace Boston

  • Heartfelt gratitude for our amazing friends at the Western Golf Association/Evans Scholars Foundation, whose boundless compassion and dedication shone through as they packaged #Happyhopebags destined to bring hope, comfort, and joy to the children of Advocate Children's Hospital and the families served by Northfield Township Food Pantry, in honor of MLK Jr. Day of Service. Dr. King’s enduring legacy of love, kindness, and community service inspires us more than words can express. He taught us the profound truth that even the smallest acts of giving and service can ripple outward, transforming lives and uplifting entire communities. Together, with hearts full of care and hands ready to serve, we can continue to build a brighter, more compassionate world. ❤️
