Flash Back Friday to 2021 and Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, MA. In partnership with Timberline Construction, CSL Consulting and EYP Architects, HBMI provided the HVAC trade for a 26,250 SF two-story residence hall building with 60 student rooms and four faculty apartments. Carlisle and Hancock Halls, now Cushing Academy’s most energy-efficient building, is the first residence hall to be tied into the new central heating plant. The heating system is supplied by (5) 3 million BTU boilers with supplemental pumps along with an energy recovery ventilator with dual heat / cool options. Flashback Friday to this Anchor Line Partners owned property at 200 Smith Street in Waltham. Working with partners Callahan Construction, CBT and WB Engineers we delivered as Core and Shell for a 430,000 sq. foot building consisting of new air handlers, boilers, cooling towers and mechanical infrastructure with future duct and hydronic pipe connections for Tenant Fit-Out. Complete Building Management system with expansion abilities to individual tenant spaces. Plumbing for the Core and Shell consisted men’s and women’s bathrooms on each level. Flashback Friday to The Burke Family Center at St. Sebastian's School in 2018. This 2 year project, with partners Bowdoin Construction, WSP Engineers and Robert Olson & Associates, added a new athletic facility to an existing building. HBMI provided the HVAC and Plumbing trades for this project. The job consisted of including four new rooftops, chiller plant, and boiler plant to the new building. The addition included locker rooms and additional gang bathrooms totaling 100 fixtures as well as a new mechanical room with (2) water heaters and an ejector. The “summer slammer” portion of the scope required the new duplex water heaters in the mechanical room addition to be integrated with the existing building infrastructure and leave future connections for subsequent phases. #flashbackfriday #plumbers #plumbing #pipefitters #pipefitting #HVAC #mechanical #athleticfacilities #academicinstitutions
