Winner, winner chicken dinner! Our 3rd Annual Chili Cookoff contest kicked off yesterday with ten pots of great chili to taste test from this year. The competition was extremely close with one vote deciding the winner. Congratulations to Drake Christensen on this year’s win! Big congrats to Stephanie Stewart and Kristin Delaney for taking 2nd and 3rd place. Also, congratulations to the Halloween costume contest winners! Harper is proud to have recently completed a new biosolids storage facility that enhances Renewable Water Resources (ReWa)'s sustainability efforts. Our team modified the existing concrete grit pad to support the fabric canopy building, providing over 40,000 SF of dry storage area. The facility is equipped with 12 fans for ventilation and new lighting throughout. Additionally, the site includes a commercial-grade truck scale to accurately measure biosolid loads for transportation. We enjoyed collaborating on this project with ReWa and KCI Technologies, Inc. HarperXS recently completed the impressive renovation of the Poinsett Club ballroom and balcony. The extensive renovation included the installation of a new ceiling and trim, architectural beams, modern lighting, fresh paint, a state-of-the-art AV system, upgraded HVAC distribution system, and a refinished floor. The Poinsett Club had a limited period of time available to complete this project, and the project team was able to successfully prefabricate the ceiling system offsite prior to mobilization. This project stands as a remarkable achievement for our team, client, and trade partners. We are grateful for the opportunity to work for such a great client! We extend our appreciation to AJH Construction for their work in prefabricating the new ceiling offsite throughout the entire summer. The building was designed with meticulous consideration to inject energy and connectivity into the space and meet the WELL Building Standard™.  As one of the first buildings in the state to achieve this designation, the United Community HQ uses globally sourced materials throughout and boasts a superior aesthetic in the seven-story facility that embraces the outdoor surroundings including the nearby Swamp Rabbit Trail.   Earlier this year, the project was recognized as one of Engineering News-Record's (ENR) Southeast Regional Best projects in the office/retail/mixed-use category.
