    Harrison Street’s Managing Director and Head of Transactions – Europe, Josh Miller, recently took part in a video interview with EXPO REAL (Messe München) and PropertyEU. In the interview, Josh discussed Harrison Street’s approach to overcoming rising construction costs and high barrier to entry markets for new development projects. Josh spoke about how Harrison Street will continue to navigate the current environment and growth plans within historically undersupplied markets in the UK and Europe through investments in purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA), build-to-rent, and senior housing sectors.  “There really is an interesting opportunity if you’re able to deliver assets into these undersupplied markets.     Michael Hochanadel, Managing Director and Head of Digital at Harrison Street, was recently featured in PERE, where he discussed the new era of data center investments and how to navigate challenges resulting from power constraints within the sector. Mike noted that cost sharing with the utility provider is an important aspect of the investment. “Having somebody credible that’s willing to post significant capital and financial resources to secure those commitments is increasingly important to the utility to offset the investment that they need to make on the back end to bring power to a site.” As a leader in the digital assets sector, Harrison Street has committed $5.4 billion since 2018 to powered shells, carrier hotels, collocation facilities and dark fiber, and has built a dedicated team committed to investing across verticals that are key parts of the digital ecosystem.       Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/genQcUpb. #HarrisonStreet #AlternativeRealAssets #DataCenters

    Harrison Street and Radnor Property Group are proud to announce the successful opening of McGinley Hall, our 11-story, 556-bed student housing community on the campus of Duquesne University (“DU”) in downtown Pittsburgh. McGinley Hall will serve junior, senior, and graduate students at DU, providing a mix of furnished studio, two-, and four-bedroom units. The new building, which is the third partnership between DU, Radnor, and Harrison Street, also offers an on-site fitness center, bicycle parking, a convenience store, and a range of common areas for studying, lounging, and gaming.  Designed and built with a focus on sustainability, the project is expected to receive a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver designation. Harrison Street is a leader in providing PPP solutions to the higher education, healthcare, and government sectors. The five-property portfolio comprises 743 units across newly constructure communities located in Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia. “This strategic acquisition exemplifies Harrison Street’s commitment to identifying and investing in key opportunities in the senior living sector. We believe by partnering with experienced operators like Brightview, we continue to deliver high-quality assets in supply-constrained markets, meeting the growing demand for premier senior housing while generating great outcomes for our investors.” said Mike Gordon, Global Chief Investment Officer at Harrison Street.     Harrison Street and Elkstone announced the development of a new 345-bed purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) at Queen Street in Galway City, Ireland. The project, due for completion in 2026, is part of a wider partnership to deliver 1,500 purpose-built student beds across Limerick, Cork, Dublin, and Galway by 2028.   “The development of Queen Street represents a notable expansion within the student housing sector to meet the growing demand in Ireland’s third largest student market,” said Paul Bashir, Harrison Street’s CEO of Europe. “We are proud to continue our partnership with Elkstone and collaborate on bringing this premium student housing asset to an undersupplied region.”   Queen Street PBSA marks the first significant investment in the west of Ireland through the Elkstone and Harrison Street partnership and will help to meet the growing demand for high-quality student accommodation in the region.   Read the full announcement here: https://lnkd.in/d8zGp9EJ   #HarrisonStreet #AlternativeRealAssets #Ireland #StudentHousing
