I’m fortunate to do what I love, and the relationships I’ve built mean everything to me. When you can genuinely call your clients true friends—as often as I do—you know you're in a special place. Provenance is crucial in our industry, and this Thursday and Friday, September 26-27, I’m excited to highlight some extraordinary cellars up for auction.   One standout is The Greene Cellar (Lots 460-723). The owner is a meticulous collector, always prioritizing condition, history, and flawless logistics. His cellar is a testament to dedication, with backup cooling and power systems that were never needed but installed anyway. Built within a larger, highly secure, and insulated space, this cellar is a model of perfection.   The collection features First Growth Bordeaux dating back to 1975, with original wooden cases, top vintages, and impeccable conditions. There’s an exceptional span of DRC from 2006 to 2016, and the California selections, including Dominus and Opus One, are perfect for any serious collector.   Beyond his precision and commitment, the owner is incredibly generous. I’ve been privileged to taste dozens of benchmark wines from his collection over the years, and I’m grateful for those unforgettable experiences. Bid.hdhauctions.com

  • Pichon Comtesse: 20 Vintages . So many takeaways from last week's Pichon tasting @lafayette380. 1928 out of magnum was singing! Remarkably fresh fruit within the layers and layers of tertiaries. Went too quickly to know how long it would've lasted. Unsurprisingly, 1966 was the evening's showstopper - a credit to the vintage and to the provenance of all these bottles. '82, '86, '90, and '95 all showed tremendously well. The younger we got, the more Pichon Comtesse's insane quality (and value!) came into focus. Nicolas Glumineau, what a master of his craft! Thanks to our wonderful sommelier, Chris, and his fantastic team for an awesome time. :) . #pichoncomtesse #hdhauctions #winecollector #bordeaux

It is rare to offer an untouched cellar. The Ericson Cellar is one of the special ones for me. As we inspected each bottle, we also paged through original receipts, cellar inventories and letters to friends about great trips and wine purchases they looked forward to sharing. It is the collection of a couple who fell in love with wine in the early 70’s, and spent the next decades travelling, cooking, collecting and gathering friends around the table to share and explore. The wines were sourced well and stored carefully. They purchased many of the wines on release and never moved them from their ideal cellar. The full cases of 70s and 80s Bordeaux are remarkable, as are the older Burgundies and Napa treasures from the same period. The depth of the Chave Hermitage shows the passion for a wine they loved, with full (often multiple) cases of 1978, 1979, 1982, 1984 through 1991… and in original cartons. This is a unique opportunity to add special treasures to your cellar and we are honored to represent the Ericson Cellar. The group will be offered in the later part of the Friday Auction session in lots 2660-2995. The auction begins each day, Thursday June 27th and Friday June 28th at 8am ET.
