Our Mission Hartford Public Library provides free resources that inspire reading, guide learning, and encourage individual exploration. Our Vision The Library will be a national leader in redefining the urban public library in the 21st century as an innovative and stimulating place where people can learn and discover, explore their passions, and find a rich array of resources that contribute to a full life.     Aurora is proud to announce one of our 2024 College Success Grant Awards to the “Barriers Can’t Stop Us” program at the Hartford Public Library for $20,000! This initiative focuses on the college retention of female graduates from the library's English Learner Success program. These women, who immigrated to the U.S. during high school, are the first in their families to attend college here. This program exemplifies Aurora’s mission: when we help women, we help their entire community. Recently, another student from "Barriers Can’t Stop Us" became a U.S. citizen with assistance from the library’s immigration staff. Abigail, a graduate of the after-school English program, is now majoring in Early Childhood Education at CT State College - Capital (CT State Capital). Abigail's 2-year-old daughter attended the oath ceremony, symbolizing a brighter future thanks to her mother’s achievement. Additionally, Abigail guided her father through the citizenship application and interview process. #hartfordpubliclibrary #aurorawomen

    We want to extend a huge thank you to Carissa Decelles and the whole team at Miranda Creative, Inc. for our fabulous 250th anniversary award-winning brand! Hartford Public Library’s new branding won 1 gold and 3 silver design awards at the Connecticut Art Directors Club ceremony back in June. We are honored to have worked with such a creative group and for that hard work to be recognized with talent throughout the state! https://lnkd.in/eAg4fPNm
