This week, we officially launched "Set the Stage"—a comprehensive $20 million campaign which will provide funding for our immediate artistic & educational programs, and inject Hartford Stage’s endowment with a vital investment, staking the future of live storytelling in downtown Hartford. See the matinee performance of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and stay for a post-show conversation with Associate Artistic Director Zoë Golub-Sass, actor Nathan Darrow, and special guest: Jefferson A. Singer, PhD. Tickets to the show available at: HartfordStage.org/events 🧠: Jefferson A. Singer is the Faulk Foundation Professor of Psychology at Connecticut College. He has authored six books, including "The Proper Pirate; Robert Louis Stevenson’s Quest for Identity." He has published over 130 articles and chapters in the fields of memory, personality, and clinical psychology. Singer is a fellow of the American Psychological Association and past recipient of the Fulbright Distinguished Scholar Award. He has also just published his first book of poems, In Common Things (Shanti Arts Press). 📖: Zoë Golub-Sass is the Associate Artistic Director at Hartford Stage. She will be directing our upcoming production of Hurricane Diane by Madeleine George (June 2025), and recently directed 2.5 Minute Ride this past June. Nathan Darrow is currently performing on-stage as Dr. Henry Jekyll in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde; he was also in our 2023 production of Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale directed by Melia Bensussen.

I am thrilled to still be a part of great theater! Some of you know I was on staff with Hartford Stage for 13 seasons, and had the honor of growing the sound department and systems to match the theater's world class stage offerings. Along the way we added new technologies like video projections and show control, automations, and more. Things have grown even further since I left, and it's so fun to get to step back in, or to have our guys head over to film a rehearsal, a mini-documentary on the process, and the actual shows themselves; and to get to see how modern theater tech works with classic ideas and amazing actors and directors to bring ideas to life.
