In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we hosted a remarkable fireside chat featuring best-selling author Marie Arana, alongside Jorge Plasencia, Global Client Officer at Havas Creative Network and Co-founder and CEO of Republica Havas, and Virginia Chavez Romano, Deputy General Counsel and U.S. General Counsel at Havas.
During this engaging conversation, Marie shared insights from her latest book, Latinoland, which offers a comprehensive overview of the American Latino population. Through hundreds of interviews and extensive research, she emphasizes the rich diversity and often-overlooked history of our largest and fastest-growing minority.
Marie is also known for her acclaimed works, including Bolívar: American Liberator, which won the 2014 Los Angeles Times Book Prize, and Silver, Sword, and Stone, named Best Nonfiction Book of 2019 by the American Library Association. Her memoir, American Chica, was a finalist for the 2001 National Book Award, and she has penned two novels set in South America Cellophane and Lima Nights.
We also enjoyed a special book signing with Marie, celebrating the stories and contributions of the Latino community. For more information on her, please visit www.simonspeakers.com.
