PROJECT = COMPLETE! 🥳 Last month, we posted a few sneak peek photos of our Loy Farm Eco Village. We’re proud to say that the homes are finished and ready for students! The homes are dedicated to students within Elon's innovative Environmental Studies program, which leverages experiential learning to educate students on strategies to solve the world's greatest environmental and social issues. The students will be part of a "Living-Learning Community," which has been created to amplify this experience. This village features six unique two-bedroom homes clustered around shared gathering spaces. 🌀THROWBACK TUESDAY 🌀 The Variform Eco Home was a conceptual home created by Haven to promote future-focused design and construction practices in the single-family home market. This 1,900-square-foot super-insulated, net-zero ready house was oriented on a half-acre site to be optimized for photo-voltaic energy production while minimizing site impact. 🔨 IN PERMITTING 🔨 Haven is partnering with Reinvestment Partners, a local non-profit affordable housing developer, to work on the Harriet Tubman YWCA, a historic property located in the Hayti neighborhood of Durham, NC. We’re providing architectural services with a focus on historic preservation, increasing energy efficiency, promoting human health, and designing for accessibility to achieve a low barrier housing environment.
