  • HCA Florida Largo Hospital was proud to sponsor Girl Scouts of West Central Florida’s 2024 Girl Scout Fest event this past weekend, which welcomed over 2,000 attendees. Our HCA Florida Healthcare station at the event promoted a mental wellness badge opportunity for the scouts, a program created in partnership with HCA Healthcare, a photo station for the girls to enjoy and the opportunity to demo a surgical robot used to assist with orthopedic surgeries, sparking lots of conversation and interest in potential healthcare careers.

  • Within hours of the storm passing HCA Healthcare supplied mini-marts, ice trucks, fuel trucks and more to help our colleagues across HCA Florida Healthcare impacted by Hurricane Milton. We had hospital volunteers for several days handing out essential needs for our Largo Hospital family. There was food, water, ice, pet food, cleaning supplies, fuel and EAP support readily available for all of our colleagues. It's just one more way we show up for each other in times of need. #WeShowUp #HCACares #CareLikeFamily

  • After suffering a stroke, Michael Pyffer found himself in the caring, capable hands of the HCA Florida Largo West Hospital rehabilitation team. When Hurricane Milton formed and evacuation orders came in, there was no choice but to evacuate Mike to HCA Florida St. Petersburg Hospital and higher ground. Mike wasn’t alone. His Largo West Hospital rehab team – Ethan Larson, PT, and Annie Mehl, OT – chose to go with him. They wanted to continue providing the best possible care to Mike during this stressful time. Following the evacuation of the hospital, both Annie and Ethan were activated for Team A at St. Petersburg Hospital. “We were there for Mike at Largo, and we wanted to show up for him at St. Petersburg Hospital, during the hurricane,” said Ethan. Though nervous about the approaching hurricane, Mike says he feels safe at HCA Florida St. Petersburg Hospital, and in good hands with Ethan and Annie. “I know they care about me,” said Mike. “I just want this hurricane to pass to I can have a beer.” #HCAFloridaFamily #CareLikeFamily

  • “During my early days as a nurse, I always felt supported,” recalls Savannah Vacca, RN of HCA Florida Largo Hospital. “The nurses on the floor always talked me through tasks and always included me in their work. Even today, if I ever have a question, I can go to my peers or my doctors without hesitation. It’s a great place to start and grow your career.” Learn about career opportunities at HCA Florida Largo Hospital: https://bit.ly/4dCEHNC #Unlock Possibilities #WorkWithUs
