Today is World Restart a Heart Day, and UCF Lake Nona Hospital and HCA Florida Healthcare are working toward improving survival rates from sudden cardiac arrest and enhancing cardiac emergency response. The program is in partnership with American Heart Association (AHA) and Orange County Library System (FL), (OCLS) equipping all 15 branches with Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and adopted comprehensive Cardiac Emergency Response Plans. The initiative includes establishing a Cardiac Emergency Response Team at each library branch and training all team members in Hands-Only CPR and AED use. Earlier this year, we posted about our commitment to providing access to vital health resources through Libraries With Heart, another initiative in partnership with HCA Healthcare, AHA and OCLS. Using Take Care of Your Blood Pressure Tool Kits, this program gets blood pressure cuffs and important medical education into the hands of Central Floridians. Library cardholders may check out blood pressure kits for up to three months free of charge at OCLS locations throughout Greater Orlando. Libraries With Heart is also available in Seminole County Public Library and Osceola County Public Library systems. #HealthierTomorrows Orlando Sentinel Nonahood News Lake Nona
