Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM)

Today, as part of its continued commitment to the Austin music community, the PNC Foundation announced a three-year, year-round partnership with the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM). The renewed sponsorship with HAAM will make the PNC Foundation the organization’s exclusive financial education partner and the co-lead supporter of HAAM Day, Austin’s biggest fundraising event supporting local musicians. HAAM provides a lifeline to Austin musicians, and since 2005, has helped its members access $191 million in healthcare services, ranging from primary and specialty care, dental, vision, hearing, mental health, basic needs and other services. Support from the PNC Foundation will allow HAAM to provide comprehensive healthcare to ensure Austin's vibrant tradition of live music continues to be a cultural and economic driver for the community. 75% of HAAM musicians make less than $30,000 a year. This year, the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) has the honor of working with Austin-based artist and entrepreneur, Zuzu Perkal, to design the HAAM Day artwork! Zuzu was voted The Austin Chronicle’s “Best Muralist” for the past three years, with artwork posted around town on billboards, buildings, and brand partnerships with SXSW, Still Austin Whiskey Co., and many more Austin businesses. She's combined her passion of art, business, curation, and design to work with brands like American Express, Rolling Stone, The Coca-Cola Company, Lexus, Neiman Marcus Group, and Major League Baseball (MLB). Her large-scale mural work is recognized for its vibrant colors, abstract design, and positive messaging. "Music and art are deeply intertwined, each supporting, energizing, and inspiring the other,” says Zuzu, “Music heals us from the inside out, and my art is intentionally designed to do the same. This year's HAAM Day artwork features a vibrant and funky color palette, reminding us to stay groovy and be happy. Like the artwork, life is abundant and blossoming all around us. Now in its 19th year, HAAM Day is one of Austin’s most iconic celebrations of community and live music, raising awareness and critical funds for the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM). See below for some helpful information for tonight: What to Expect The event will take place at ACL Live and is free, family-friendly, and open to the public. During the show, you will have the opportunity to participate in our Silent Auction, purchase HAAM merchandise, scoop up Pick-A-Pick Prizes (subject to availability, sells out quickly), enter our Golden Ticket Raffle and of course, cast your vote for Fan Favorite (most dollars raised) and Fan Club (most fans in attendance) contests! Fan Favorite Award The Fan Favorite Award is determined by the band that raises the most funds, leading up to and during the event. You can vote for Fan Favorite online or onsite. The deadline to cast your Fan Favorite Vote is 10 minutes after the conclusion of the last band’s performance. Fan Club Award NEW this year is the Fan Club Award! The winner is determined by the band that brings the most fans! At check-in you will receive a ticket which you will then take to the Fan Club Tally Station, inside the entrance and to the left. You will then drop your ticket in the jar of the band/company you are there to see. Take a peek at our digital program to learn more about the bands/companies in advance.
