I am excited to attend AI for Health Equity Symposium AIM-AHEAD 2024 Annual Meeting on August 6th in Atlanta. The key finding we are reporting at this conference is that models of African Americans’ experiences were more accurate than race-blind models in predicting response to 5 out of 15 common antidepressants, including: Doxepin, Escitalopram, Fluoxetine, Mirtazapine, and Nortriptyline.  Before using an AI model, it is important to remove systemic bias in these models. This work included contributions from Kevin Lybarger, Niloofar Ramezani, Vladimir Cardenas, and Rachael King, MSHI, MLS(AMT).
