This week, our In Focus section highlights insights from a new HMA issue brief, “New Insights on Medicaid Spending: An Analysis of Disaggregated Managed Care Spending.” Until now, most Medicaid cost data have focused on enrollees in FFS programs. HMA used CMS T-MSIS database to analyze Medicaid MCO spending in major categories of healthcare, including inpatient and outpatient hospital care, physician and other professional services, SNFs and HCBS, clinics, pharmaceuticals, and other services.
