We knew the Covenant Heath Project in Edmonton, AB, had tight construction deadlines so by including Giatec's Smartrock® sensors as a package item in our bid, we were able to offer Bird Construction a complete package to help build the project - 15,000 Cubic Meters of concrete and a digital solution to enhance efficiency. For this project, the pitch was made to the form workers pouring the slabs. We explained how Smartrock maturity monitoring could assist them with faster form stripping times based on real-time data from the in-place concrete, allowing them to make informed decisions to accelerate construction. Equipped with these new insights, the team could now monitor the strength of their concrete, confirm break tests to ensure concrete quality while safely moving on with optimized concrete construction timelines. In the end the construction of each slab was reduced by about four days using the real time Smartrock maturity monitoring.
