We are pleased to announce that Helmkamp, along with design-build partners Graycor, Vestal Corporation and Salas O'Brien have been awarded Wieland Group's landmark, multi-phase project to expand and modernize its East Alton facility, positioning Wieland as a key contributor to the energy transition and a renewable future. This transformational project, currently in preconstruction, highlights the unique and industry-leading technical knowledge and abilities of our joint construction team - Helmkamp and our partner Graycor, as well as our design partners, Vestal Corporation who will provide MEP design services, and Salas O'Brien who will provide process engineering design services. Helmkamp and Graycor have also been chosen as the construction team for the Casting Unit 6 (CU6) project, representing the first project in the overall capital investment plan. The project mobilized in April and when complete will increase casting capacity and the quality of copper production at the facility which originally opened in 1916. It gives our team great pride for our 85 years of heavy industrial expertise to be utilized for this exciting project in our very own community. #FridayFun 🐶 We had a special guest in the office today! Dozer, the Helmkamp-sponsored service dog in training, and Dogs For Our Brave visited our office team today with an update on how great Dozer's training is going. He has come a long way since he visited us in the winter. He's still an energetic pup... but he's calmer, very sociable, retrieving well, and can do things like pick up his own leash & look where he needs to ("eyes on point") which came in handy for taking his photo! His trainer, Becky, said they're super happy with his progress... he's already doing things in his next phase of training, and when ready, will make a sweet & helpful companion for the veteran they pair him with. Construction was recently completed by Helmkamp on the new Cardiac Cath Lab at OSF St. Anthony's Health Center. The department celebrated with an open house this week and lab manager, Keeley, had this to say: "I truly want to express so much gratitude to BJ and the project team who worked so hard and delivered an exceptional final product." Our team is always excited to see customers enjoying their new space. It's especially rewarding when we work on projects that help make a difference in patient care.
