We provide wraparound services to meet the daily living needs of families and caregivers navigating their child’s cancer

About us

Here to Serve identifies and mobilizes people, charities, businesses and organizations to carry each other’s burdens during times of crisis, insuring guidance and assistance does not have to be sought after, but is offered freely by people and organizations that collaborate to compassionately respond to those navigating cancer. We seek to demystify the plethora of service organizations and to make them easily accessible, thereby easing the cancer journey. Here to Serve provides assistance to families with children battling cancer. We: Mobilize people and resources to meet the daily living requirements of families who do not qualify for government assistance. Build online communities of support called Care Communities, that provide a network of services and financial assistance for families caring for their child or spouse battling cancer. Provide hard-to-find resources at the start and throughout treatment as needs arise. Here to Serve is a health and human services organization providing non-medical support services to patients and their caregivers who are navigating cancer. We are a 501 (c) (3) charity that collaborates and cooperates with the community including individuals, businesses, and other nonprofit organizations to reduce the suffering and emotional stress of individuals, families and caregivers during cancer treatment. Here to Serve combines the services of other charities, corporations, and professional service organizations and mobilizes a network of friends, neighbors and loved ones to provide targeted non-medical assistance to families battling cancer. We identify resources to help with insurance and legal issues, financial, emotional and mental health support, and navigate other NPO services, as well as provide assistance with child care, meals, household chores, transportation, pet care, and general logistics.

We hope you'll join us on September 21st when Adrian's mother Abby will share his story at Casino Night, reiterating how critical it is for us to come together as a community to close the care gap. Imagine your child’s cells as a factory with proteins acting as tiny machines. Menin is a tumor suppressor protein that regulates cell growth. In some childhood cancers, gene mutations like *KMT2A and *NPM1 corrupt these growth instructions, causing uncontrolled cell multiplication. Menin, while usually a regulator, interacts with these mutations, further fueling cancer growth. Menin inhibitors are a promising new therapy designed to disrupt this harmful interaction, effectively starving cancer cells of the signals they need to survive. This innovative approach could revolutionize pediatric cancer treatment. Read our latest blog to learn more about how menin inhibitors could offer new hope as a promising new therapy for cancer patients at: https://lnkd.in/gH8JPhyK

The Zaragoza family, whose son Micah is undergoing a three-year treatment for B Cell ALL and has recently been diagnosed with autism, faced significant challenges, including not having a vehicle that could accommodate their family of six. Here to Serve stepped in and, thanks to our dedicated volunteers, provided them with a fully reconditioned Toyota Sienna SE Van. This incredible act of kindness was made possible by the unwavering support of our community, allowing us to continue helping families like the Zaragozas navigate their pediatric cancer journey with the in-home support they need.
