In Chicago, two indoor holiday markets are happening today (Dec. 17) – Chicago Artisan Market and Renegade Craft. Last week, I attended the One of a Kind Show Chicago (OOAK) Holiday Market at the Merchandise Mart and talked to many local food producers where I visited The Hatchery Chicago Pavillion and said hi to Natalie Shmulik and Dani Zuchovicki as well as their members (Bif Cheese, CRAFIAN Artisanal Toffee, Divine Bakery, Flouse Mixes, Moody Teas, Southside Grinds Coffee Co., and Tasting India). Chicago Artisan Market (Jonathan Smith and Lynna Smith - created the StyleChicago events that I used to regularly attend.) at 4325 N. Ravenswood in the Ravenswood neighborhood. After attending the holiday market which does offer coffee and cocktails, you can stop by the KOVAL Distillery’s store and tasting room at 4241 N. Ravenswood. OOAK exhibitors Big Fork Brands (Lance Avery) and Old Arthur’s Barbecue Products, LLC (Eudell Watts IV) are at this show. Renegade Craft is being held at Morgan Manufacturing in the West Loop at 401 N. Morgan. OOAK exhibitors Carolyn's Krisps (Amie Kesler), Chilee Oil (James Lee), and Thirsty Dumpling (Samantha Mui) are here at this show. Ándale Market (Mia Sakai, Tim Hannifan) in the Andersonville neighborhood at 5232 N. Clark calls itself a “curated bodega specializing in unique food finds, local and imported goods, and best-of essentials for pet, home and body.” Ándale was the first retailer to carry Amie Kesler's Carolyn's Krisps cookie-crackers. Through events like the Pantry Playoffs (open vendor call) Ándale allows shoppers to vote on what products to carry in the bodega. Some of the other Chicago food brands carried by Ándale are OOAK exhibitors Chilee Oil and Long Table (Samuel Taylor, Lindsey Whiting). Kororin US Inc., Kyoto Black (By Justin Doggett), Tubby's Taste (Danielle Tubbs), and Unbothered Foods are some of the other local brands carried by the shop.
