Move over cuffing season, it's "u-haul" fall! Last week, we launched our newest feature: the "move in" button. Inspired by our latest survey that found that sapphic couples move in nearly FOUR times FASTER than heterosexual couples, we created this feature where users can see their moving in style and see how compatible they are with their match. Learn more about the feature here 🚚 https://lnkd.in/dbbNqrrm

"Many of the mainstream hetero [dating apps] have options where you can select different sexualities and preferences, but those platforms will never be able to speak to what is so important about queer spaces, which is to focus on and celebrate the unique parts of sapphic culture and sapphic identity. And that’s what we get to do at HER, and that belief has been consistent all the way through." 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ Our Founder and CEO Robyn Exton (she / her) recently chatted with NPR's Marketplace podcast to talk all things HER - check it out! https://lnkd.in/d89dzbdi

We conducted a study of over 2000 users on the difficulties and struggles that bisexual people face and released it last month for #BiAwarenessWeek 💙🩷💜 The TLDR? 40% of bisexual people admit feeling invisible in LGBTQIA+ spaces due to the bi-erasure they have faced. 34% of bisexual respondents revealed they’ve been labeled “greedy” or “confused” — a stereotype that simply refuses to die. 48% of bisexuals are tired of being asked “Who Do You Really Like More?” underscoring the frustrations of having their sexuality policed by others. Let's Go Lesbians!! Our CEO Robyn Exton (she / her) talked to Metro.co.uk this weekend about the importance of language within the queer community and how our vocabulary has evolved over the years. We've always been here for the lesbians and always will be 💖 #sapphicrenaissance
After years of misappropriation, it’s time to reclaim the word ‘lesbian’

Did you know HER wasn't always HER? That our first product totally missed the mark with our real user needs? Read about our early days and all the things our founder Robyn Exton (she / her) got right (and wrong!) in the early days. As always, listening to users and focussing on the unique problems and experiences of our sapphic community was the answer. 300 million matches and counting - we've got a lot more love to give 🏳️🌈 https://lnkd.in/gYmhjg27
"My First..." is a monthly series by Jennifer Wolf about the critical early decisions in startups that can make or break a company's chances of success. Each month, Jen Wolf talks to founders from our portfolio about their first experiences in hiring, product development, customers, and more. Just in time for #PrideMonth, Jen sat down with Robyn Exton (she / her), founder of HER Social, a sapphic dating and community app, to talk about her first experiences in building a product that is now used by over 14M users. HER prioritizes unique experiences through features like IRL event discovery and community connections. 🌈 Key takeaways from their conversation include: • The rebranding of the app from 'Dattch' to 'HER’. • Emphasizing user-centric product design. • The importance of continuous user engagement to enable over 300M matches. “Truly, from where I first started, I didn't understand the concept of product design and how our branding comes from the position of having a belief and delivering that through everything you do. Now, I think designing products comes from observing user behavior, determining what will provide the most value, and building for that. There’s a lot of intuition in reading between the tea leaves to find where the value sits.” Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gYmhjg27
