The headwind was strong, but our team (and 15 gallons of pickle juice) were stronger. A huge thank you to the Galveston Bay Foundation and our amazing volunteers for putting on another beautiful day on Bolivar Island for this year’s Bike Around the Bay. We couldn’t have done it without our friends and family who volunteered at the tent, our dedicated riders for fundraising to the finish line, and, of course, our dancing pickle. It’s National Bosses Day. And we know we have a lot to celebrate because we work with some of the most boss people around. Here, leadership is a role we all share—guiding and following each other through collaboration, expertise, and strategy-driven creative that gives us all goosebumps. So cheers to all of the great leaders of the world and the great leaders we get to stand alongside every day.

Friends were challenged. Sides were taken. But now, we will finally have the answer to the question that divided an agency: who would win in a footrace between our in-his-prime Principal Devin and our ex-athlete Executive Creative Director Thomas? There were tears, there was smack talk, and thankfully, no one had to call 911. Congratulations Devin, amidst a lot of doubt, you have emerged victorious.

Hierarchy is saddling up once again for Bike Around the Bay, an annual century ride from Houston to Galveston that supports The Galveston Bay Foundation, on October 19. Along with your support, this 100-mile ride helps fund education and conservation efforts for local land, water, and wildlife around our favorite bay. Want to roll with us? Meet Cali; Brand Manager by day, botany enthusiast by night. Her family’s green thumb is a force to be reckoned with, boasting an impressive—albeit self-reported—9/10 success rate. Since her first buds in her mom’s garden, her personal (and successful, if we do say so ourselves) mission has been to make the world a bit more beautiful, one bloom and a thousand homeopathic remedies at a time. Our chili was hot, but apparently, our spirits (and Jell-O shots) were hotter. We had an amazing time helping raise money for the Dwight Douthit Scholarship Fun at Ad2 Houston’s Chili Cookoff last weekend and were honored to receive this year’s Spirit Award. We always knew we were the personality pick.

Meet our Executive Creative Director Thomas Guerrero.    When not concepting or directing, you can find him in his studio shooting soon-to-be icons, adding another piece to his mural of tattoos, or donating his time and talent to local businesses in support of his community and thousands of friends. And as these friends (and we) know, working with Thomas means getting front row for a slideshow of photos from when he peaked in high school wrestling, being brought an antique he found on the side of the road that reminded him of you, and always having someone who’s got your back with the creative guidance and quick wits to bring any idea to life.
