A very special THANK YOU to Walter Payton Man of the Year and All-Pro Defensive Tackle for the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Cam Heyward and his Mom for visiting our Pittsburgh site recently! Cam and Charlotte helped spread hope by sharing their grief story with kids and families, answering questions during a Q+A, and participating in some activities with kids and adults. Watch Cam and Charlotte during our Virtual Children’s Grief Awareness Day event (Nov. 21) at https://lnkd.in/gApETRZ3. LEARN MORE about Cam and the Cameron Heyward Foundation at https://lnkd.in/gTwS93Yj.

Season two of Apple’s “Shrinking” is streaming today (rated TV-MA) on Apple+. Our very own Jonathan Williams (Child Grief Specialist, School Services Coordinator) was so moved by the show that he wrote a blog post entitled “Thinking About Shrinking • The Many Faces of Grief” with our Young Adult audience in mind!

DID YOU KNOW that one in twelve American children will lose a parent or sibling before age 18 and the vast majority of children experience a significant loss by the time they complete high school? A very special THANK YOU to New York Life for awarding us $5,000, part of their Community Impact Grant program – which will greatly help the grieving children and families we serve at the Highmark Caring Place. A special thanks to the West Shore Theatre for recently hosting a movie night for our Highmark Caring Place (Camp Hill) kids and families! During this time together, we were reminded that our feelings change as we grow, but all feelings are okay! Can you guess what movie we saw?
