  • 🌟 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬: 𝐎𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐋𝐨𝐠𝐚𝐧 🌟 Our 2025 Career Summits are underway, and we are thrilled to resume our series highlighting participating employers and job seekers. We follow Logan Watson, manager of events and engagement at HOH, to showcase the opportunities she discovers and connections she forms at our hiring events. 🚋Logan’s next stop is Lockheed Martin, a security, defense, and aerospace contractor headquartered in North Bethesda, Maryland. 🎙️ Logan recently spoke with Navy veteran Carlos Arcila "Ace", a professional pathways program manager and military relations manager at Lockheed Martin. Like many veterans, Carlos faced challenges in his transition to civilian life, including periods of unemployment and uncertainty. His journey into the corporate world began after a Hiring Our Heroes Career Summit, where he made a key connection that led to his current role. Now thriving in his career, he is passionate about helping fellow veterans navigate this transition. 🎯 Carlos values the Lockheed Martin culture and commitment to the military community. He emphasized that veterans bring critical skills that align closely with Lockheed Martin’s mission and core values. As he put it, “I once heard a veteran at Lockheed Martin say they are as proud to wear an LM polo as they were when they wore their military uniform.” This sentiment reflects the deep connection between military service and the work being done at Lockheed Martin. Carlos also highlighted the impact of Hiring Our Heroes events, noting that well-prepared candidates with clear career goals stand out. He encourages job seekers to: 📍 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐬 – come prepared with questions and research the companies you’re interested in. 📍 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐫𝐬 – don’t limit yourself to well-known organizations; smaller companies may offer the perfect opportunity. 📍 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡 – know how to introduce yourself and have specific roles in mind. 📍 𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐨𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐞 – ask recruiters how you can improve your chances of landing a role. 📍 𝐁𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 – enthusiasm and preparation make a lasting impression. If you're looking for a meaningful career that leverages your military experience, consider using your skills to make an impact in the security, defense, and aerospace industries.
