  • Meet Alexander L. Thomason, MBA, marketing underwriter, HM Insurance Group (HM). Alex is responsible for underwriting and business development for one of HM’s national producer partners. Alex joined the company in 2017 and has held roles of increasing responsibility within the Underwriting team. Alex offers this advice to someone who’s starting a career in Stop Loss underwriting. “In addition to understanding the basics of Stop Loss insurance, I would recommend staying current with market trends, working diligently to hone risk assessment capabilities and seeking mentorship from experienced co-workers.” Alex is based in Omaha, Nebraska. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children, as well as golfing and running. He also is a Louisville Cardinals fan.
