👓💡Check out the highlights of our LinkedIn Live panel exploring how Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) is transforming college sports. Below are 𝟱 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 from our excellent conversation with Bill Carter, Sabrina Oostburg, Trevor Bechtold and Nate Appleman. 1. Revenue sharing - Expected to go into effect this year, revenue sharing will allow universities to pay athletes directly, adding more fuel to the NIL fire and creating greater disparity between the "haves" and "have nots" of college sports. 2. Evolving role of NIL collectives - Even with revenue sharing, NIL collectives, which raise and direct money through booster programs, are likely to remain an important part of college sports funding. This is especially true as collectives do not have to follow Title IX restrictions. 3. Competing outside the NIL - Schools without large booster groups and revenue sources must consider other ways to recruit and retain student athletes. Examples include campus/program culture, facilities and amenities and educational value/support. 4. Smart, multi-use facilities - Much of the money that used to go to athletic departments is now going to student athletes. This is limiting funding for new facilities and increasing the need for facilities that can generate revenue while serving a variety of needs. 5. A need for adaptability - As NIL and revenue sharing continue to evolve, universities and athletes must be ready to adapt. NIL is just four years old. Already it has made a huge impact on college athletics with more to come over the next decade and beyond.

Described by the San Francisco Chronicle as “An architectural machine of carefully balanced parts,” San Francisco’s Public Safety Campus brings together the community’s critical municipal services to establish an anchor within a busy city corridor in the Mission Bay district. Balancing new and old with transparency and security, the complex conveys the openness of government through daylight-filled, inviting spaces. Welcoming, friendly and sustainable, the shared municipal building houses San Francisco’s police headquarters, a district police station and a 1920s masonry fire station renovated for community use. Have you seen the 10th and O Street State Office Building on Archello? Designed by HOK, the 10-story building puts democracy on display. It houses California's legislative and executive elected officials, additional staff, public hearing rooms and more. As an all-electric, net-zero energy and net-zero carbon emissions facility, the building is leading California toward a net-zero future. To support occupant health and wellness, the building’s high-performance facade and efficient mechanical systems enhance the comfort of occupants. 🔬 We're taking a look back at some of our favorite scientific workplace renovations, including the Stanford School of Medicine 1651 Page Mill Renewal. HOK's design transformed a 1960s-era office building into a modern, light-filled research workplace for advancing medical science at Stanford. Housing high-performance biomedical research labs, the facility accommodates a wide variety of collaborative research teams. Specialized spaces include core facilities, shared workspaces and infrastructure to support each team. Glass walls with simple, origami-like folds replaced outdated glass window walls at the north and south ends of the existing building. This floor-to-ceiling glass floats above a wide-planked boardwalk along the edge of the outdoor gardens, blurring the lines between interior and exterior environments. 📸 Bruce Damonte

Located in London’s Fleet Street Conservation District, 10 New Bridge is a 1960s-era office building in need of updates to attract new tenants and comply with modern building standards. Working with owner/developer Atenor, HOK designed a deep-green retrofit that brings new life and sustainability to the building. The project showcases a smart, triple-bottom-line approach by: ✅ Significantly reducing embodied carbon and construction waste compared to replacing the building.  ✅ Adding new community connections that enhance local infrastructure and history.  ✅Increasing the economic viability and long-term use of the building. 👏 Congratulations to our partners at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) celebrating the airport’s centennial this year! Established in 1925, ATL now serves more than 100 million passengers annually and is the busiest airport in the U.S. We are honored to be a part of joint venture team with Stanley, Love-Stanley, P.C., and Chasm Architecture, L.L.C to design the iconic canopies at the domestic passenger terminal!
