We were excited to join our public and private sector partners yesterday at One Wharf Street in Boston, MA. The ribbon cutting marked the inaugural pour of Sublime Systems' low-carbon cement at this flagship Boston property and celebrated the milestone investments by US DOE, Holcim and other partners to support construction of Sublime's first commercial-scale facility in Holyoke, MA. The Holyoke plant will play a vital role in advancing low-carbon cement technology and supporting our joint efforts to decarbonize construction. Melissa Carey, Head of Climate, ESG Policy and Government Affairs represented Holcim at this event and was able to share our excitement for this groundbreaking launch with Sublime System's team, industry leaders, and government members. 📷 1: Ribbon cutting by Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey with members of Congress and key members of the industrial decarbonization team in the White House and at the Department of Energy. 📷 2: Melissa Carey with Robin Carnahan, Administrator of the US General Services Administration (GSA). 📷 3: Melissa Carey with Leah Ellis, CEO of Sublime Systems.

This year’s One Young World Summit in Montréal brought together 2,000 young leaders who inspired us with their passion, intelligence and talent. Our U.S. representatives, Miranda Schalk and Kayla Weidner, attended the event to learn and network with other young industry leaders, preparing themselves for the challenges of tomorrow. Reflecting on her experience, Kayla shared, 'One session I really enjoyed was on wildlife conservation, something I’m deeply passionate about and hope to explore further at Holcim.'

As community leaders, our responsibility is to support and give back to communities across the country. 💚 Our Twin Cities aggregate team hosted local Scouts to help them work toward their 'Mining in Society' Merit Badge, sharing insights about the mining process and the essential role our products play in everyday life. 💚 To salute all teachers as they embark on another year sharpening young minds, our Melissa (TX) RMX plant sponsored the teacher convocation lunches and Teacher of the Year Award. 💚 Cottage Grove families enjoyed a night of outdoor movies at 'Movies With Mo,' featuring a unique photo op with a special guest — our front-end loader, which usually operates at our sand and gravel sites. It was a big hit with both kids and parents. 💚 Our Joppa (IL) plant hosted a barbecue cookout that raised fund for the local Senior Center, Happy Hearts. The money raised will help fund the vital programs and services that seniors in the community rely on. 💚 We joined in the bicentennial celebrations at the Lockport Town Community Day to tell the story of our Lockport Quarry's long history of operating in the local area.
