We wanted to give back to some of the amazing people and organizations across NYC who generously contribute their time and resources to our HFH community. Guests from New York City Police Department Community Affairs, Together Hospitality, Old Navy, Alston & Bird, Trinity Baptist Church, Stifel Financial Corp., and The New York Public Library Soundview branch enjoyed a delicious lunch prepared and served by students, graduates, and instructors from our Allie’s Place Center for Culinary Education & Employment job-training program. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us and continues to make such a difference in our community! In Pastry Arts, students dive into the science and technique behind baking and pastry. This course covers dough assembly for cookies, muffins, cakes, and breads. In the most recent cohort, students crafted chewy bagels, fluffy dinner rolls, and the perfect fall dessert—apple cinnamon crumb muffins—while honing their measurement skills and mastering recipe precision.🍎🥯 To learn more about upcoming culinary job-training opportunities, visit https://bit.ly/3LYhmIu. #NYC #Bronx #JobDevelopment #JobPlacement #JobTraining #CulinaryEducation #CulinaryProgram #CulinaryTraining #Culinary #PastryArts #WorkforceDevelopment #Pastry #PastryArts

Our partnerships manager, Tierra, recently participated in the ribbon cutting at the grand opening of NAYA’s new Upper East Side location. NAYA donated proceeds from their opening day promotion to Allie’s Place Center for Culinary Education & Employment. Their generous donation will go towards supporting our culinary job-training program which prepares adults for employment. Along with the donation, they also provided hot bowls to the families at our Clinton Family Residence in Manhattan. Thank you, NAYA! Lufthansa’s help alliance Americas recently hosted a special outdoor event at Saratoga! 🎨✈️ Earlier this year, trainees from Lufthansa’s Take Off program painted a vibrant mural to brighten up the newly refurbished outdoor space. Families were invited to add their own finishing touches to the mural, paint their own canvases, play games, and cool down with popsicles. As part of our on-going project “Minds take flight“ the Take Off Trainees GEN 2 hosted a successful end of summer event in August. Together with volunteers from Lufthansa Group they created a fantastic afternoon for the children at the Saratoga Family Residence Shelter in Jamaica, New York. The event featured painting activities, various sports like hopscotch and basketball and as part of further beautification of the outdoor playground, the kids added their handprints to the mural painted by the trainees several months before, making it even more unique, colourful and lively. A big thank you to all our volunteers for making the day so special!✈️ #doinggood #poweredbyvolunteers #fromtheregiontotheregion
