Partners from Marin Environmental Housing Collaborative made time before their event in The Key Room yesterday for tours of the new buildings that will complete our Novato campus. Groups had a chance to visit the 26 apartments being completed for people returning to the workforce, along with the veterans building and our work-in-progress training and events center. More preview tours are coming soon!

Ending homelessness with training, housing and hope.
About us
Homeward Bound of Marin is a community nonprofit with the mission of "opening doors to safety, dignity, hope and independence" and a goal of "ending homelessness with training, housing and hope." Homeward Bound is Marin County's main provider of shelter and residential services for homeless families and individuals, serving approximately 1,300 people per year in 15 inter-related residential programs. Our overarching goal is to end homelessness in Marin County. To that end, we offer supportive services designed to end homelessness in the life of every person served, whatever their circumstances.

The award strengthens our mission-driven businesses that employ graduates of Fresh Starts Culinary Academy: The Key Room event venue, Wagster Treats dog biscuits and Fresh Starts Chef Events. With CA RISE, we'll keep making progress to break barriers to employment and economic growth for people who have faced challenges like unstable housing or a history of incarceration. Awardees gathered in Sacramento include our Co-CEO Paul Fordham as well as the leading partners: REDF, the California Office of the Small Business Advocate (CalOSBA) and Lendistry. Expanding the housing options for our community plays a key part in our work to end homelessness. To that end, we've joined community partners in Housing For All Marin to promote a housing bond measure that could bring $700 million in new funding to the Bay Area. Our Co-Chief Executive Paul Fordham was among those gathered this week to learn more about the coalition and how the bond measure proposed for November's ballot can bridge the funding gap for building affordable homes. If you want to learn more, visit the coalition online or find their table at farmers markets around Marin to get your questions answered.
