It’s truly heartwarming to see the difference a child can make. After meeting someone living with ALS and learning about Hope Loves Company, a compassionate six-year-old was inspired to take action in such a beautiful way! During her neighborhood’s yard sale, she set up a lemonade stand, pouring her heart into it, and raised an incredible $300 for Hope Loves Company! When we called to thank her, she touched our hearts even more by saying, “A little idea can make a big difference.” We gratefully agree! Today our Executive Director, Jennifer Thompson and youth program participant, Madeline joined the Denali Therapeutics company for a discussion about youth caregivers and the family impact of #als. Thank you for the invitation to elevate the story of our youngest caregivers and for supporting the community!

What a weekend! We had such a blast at #camphlc in MA! Supporting the youngest of #caregivers in the #AlS community is our mission and this weekend we had the opportunity to create community and also share the stories as part of the PBS documentary on caregiving. This work is of vital importance and we’re so grateful for the support of our partners, The ALS Association , Shady Strong-ALS Awareness, Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America, Paint for a Cure, Amramp for making this weekend possible! Hope continues to rise at Hope Loves Company! Please help us welcome our newest board member, Jaramogi K Adams to our team! Jaramogi brings a wealth of experience in finance, operations and nonprofit leadership to our board! From companies such as American Express and Twitter, he has led in human capital development, technology, infrastructure and growth. We could not be more excited to welcome him to our leadership table!

Yesterday our executive director, Jennifer Thompson joined our friends and colleagues from I AM ALS, The ALS Association and Les Turner ALS Foundation to discuss collaboration and how we as organizations can move this work forward while not duplicating efforts. HLC is unique in that we are the only organization in the nation focused on providing year-round, in-person and online, trauma informed mental health programs for youth caregivers in the ALS community. Our partnerships with clinics and other organizations are key to reaching all families and providing the programs we do.
