The Lord has blessed us with a tremendous opportunity to purchase an existing high school! We have an $80,000 matching fund that, once met, will allow us to pay off the school fully. https://lnkd.in/eRp9XxMD In Uganda, we have seen Islam aggressively spreading. Mosques and Islamic schools are being funded and built across the country to spread Islam. Living Hope College will speak truth into the lives of our students and equip them to live their lives to the fullest. The Living Hope College property has 7 buildings on it and room for future expansions. These buildings will be used for our high school classes as well as our vocational training classes. This high school once up and running will be self-sufficient and help to position the Ministry for growth. Please consider partnering with us on this $80,000 matching gift fund. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Bringing the Hope of Jesus to a Forgotten People. Redeem. Restore. Rebuild. Raise Up.
About us
Through Hope Ministries Uganda: USA’s partnership with Hope Ministries Uganda and Pastor Gerald Tugume, our mission is to build awareness of the plight of a forgotten people and to bring the hope of Jesus Christ to the Batwa through a holistic approach. Part of this holistic approach understands the extreme poverty and discrimination from which the Batwa come and recognizes that poverty is more than just low income. The Batwa are a pygmy tribe located in the southwest corner of Uganda. They are conservation refugees who were evicted from their rain forest home so that the Bwindi Impenetrable Rain Forest could be made into a World Heritage Site to protect the 350 endangered mountain gorillas. The land they moved to was without a forest and was foreign to them. As one of the oldest documented tribes in Africa, thousands of years of living as the “Keepers of the Forest,” they were changed to becoming “land squatters” and “living scarecrows.” The Batwa have been held captive by being separated from God and as conservation refugees. The struggle has been real. The hope is that through being the hands and feet of Jesus, Hope Ministries Uganda will help free the Batwa from captivity, and they will discover a relationship with the living God. They will no longer be called unworthy. They have a new name and a new life. God is not done with them. Our current focus is at the Land of Living Hope, where we work with 335 orphaned and abandoned Batwa children, whom we call Seeds of Hope. In addition, our child sponsorship program helps to feed and educate our children. Through our Farm to Their Table Campaign, we are on the road towards sustainable living through agriculture and farm animals. We are building bright futures at the Land of Living Hope. Who will Rise Up? Who will be Love? Through your generosity, we can change lives together!

Pastor Gerald is in great pain and in need of our prayers. Today, he met with a surgeon who shared that he must get a second Urethroplasty surgery. He only has one kidney, and he is struggling to urinate. The surgeon would like to do the surgery tomorrow, but we must have the funds. The total we will need for surgery is $5,200, which will cover the surgery, transportation, housing, and other miscellaneous expenses. One donor has already covered half of this need, bringing the total need down to $2,600. If you want to help us raise these funds, type "Gerald Surgery." into the donation notes. https://lnkd.in/gR59WWvg

The planting season in Uganda is quickly approaching. As we begin cultivating the ground and preparing it for the planting season, two generous donors have agreed to provide $12,000 towards our agricultural costs as a gift match opportunity. Partnering with us to double this gift will allow us to plant 35-40 acres of maize (corn) and beans and cover all our needs from start to finish, including cultivating the land, planting, fertilizing, weeding, and harvesting. An abundant crop will allow us to reduce our reliance on outside food sources and allow us to save seeds for planting in the next season. Please consider partnering with us as we continue to work with the Batwa, sharing the gospel and meeting their needs. https://lnkd.in/dCHgp2VM #thegospel #missions

Some exciting news! In 2023, we set out to reach 60% food sustainability at the Land of Living Hope. We have made massive headway on this ongoing project due to partnerships like yours and, most recently, a grant partnership with the World Bank and the Ugandan Government. As a part of this exciting new grant opportunity, we will be participating in the testing of a new irrigation system which will allow us to extend the growing season and cultivate a wider variety of crops, which in turn will lead to greater food security and a more diverse and nutritious diet for the Batwa people. As we begin cultivating the ground and preparing it for the planting season, two generous donors have agreed to provide $12,000 towards our agricultural costs as a gift match opportunity. Please consider partnering with us to double this gift. We are called to go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole of creation. What a beautiful calling. To bring the hope and joy found in knowing the God who has redeemed the lost. We continue to give thanks to God for His provision and pray for you and the Batwa as we continue to work within the Batwa communities in Uganda. If you would like to partner with us, there are children who are waiting for sponsors. https://lnkd.in/gkCy5DQN #thegospel #missions #batwa #uganda #conservationrefugees
