Whatever Wednesday! (It's like every other day that I post only more....out of left field). On this Whatever Wednesday, we look at one of the coolest stories (my opinion, of course) that comes from the Flight Test Center of the World, 412th Test Wing, Edwards Air Force Base. We'll go ahead and share the answer, it's Dr. John Paul Stapp! His story is much more interesting than just the "Rocket Sled Doctor". His motives behind being strapped into the sled were selfless as were his actions on the then very bare Edwards AFB which are inspiring and the definition of a true leader. You can read more about him in the book Sonic Wind: The Story of John Paul Stapp and How a Renegade Doctor Became the Fastest Man on Earth. #RenegadeDoctor #USAF #FlightTest #RocketSledDoctor
