About us
HPCIC has been Iredell County's nonprofit hospice and palliative care provider since 1984. We also have the only hospice in-patient facilities in the county, Gordon Hospice House in Statesville and S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House in Mooresville. We appreciate the support of our wonderful community, and give back through programs such as We Honor Veterans, Rainbow Kidz Pediatric Grief Counseling, and by providing care to uninsured patients.

One of the biggest hospice myths is that hospice means giving up hope. “It’s not — it’s reframing hope,” Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County CEO Mike Smith says. “We may no longer be hoping for a cure, but now we focus on hope for time with family, comfort, peace and dignity in the patients location of choice. Our hope is to walk this journey with families and be there every step of the way and help families honor their loved ones wishes.”

Each month our volunteer department offers Coffee & Conversation for current volunteers and anyone interested in becoming a volunteer in the future. Currently, we are especially in need of volunteers who can provide visits to patients in their homes or facilities. These visits offer companionship to the patient as well as a time of respite for the caregivers. To learn just how much your time can mean to someone, reach out to leannd@hoic.org.
