Chapter of National Angels | Providing wrap-around support to families & youth in foster care across Greater Houston

About us

The Houston Angels mission is to walk alongside foster children and their caretakers by offering consistent support through intentional giving, relationship building and mentorship. INTENTIONAL GIVING: We define intentional giving as the giving of thoughtful gifts and resources that meet the real needs of a foster child and their entire family. RELATIONSHIP BUILDING: We define relationship building as devoting time and energy to foster healthy relationships that promote healing through connection. MENTORSHIP: We define mentorship as equipping and empowering our children to be prepared for adult living and reach their fullest potential. Our Love Box program provides foster families with community and holistic support so that they can continue to do the important and meaningful work of being a foster parent. As a Love Box group, you will be matched with a local foster family based on compatibility and scope of needs. When our families are matched with committed volunteers that show up monthly, parents feel supported and children gain a sense of belonging and self confidence. Our Dare to Dream program offers an opportunity to mentor a youth in foster care or youth who has aged out of foster care (ranging from 15-21 years old). Many foster youth are victims of abuse and neglect, may have trouble forming healthy relationships, and are often ill-prepared for life after foster care. Our aged-out youth are living in emergency shelters or are homeless. They need the wisdom, advice, encouragement and community that mentors can provide. As a mentor, you commit to meeting with your mentee twice per moth to set goals, reach milestones and help them achieve their dreams. Houston Angels is part of a growing organization called National Angels, whose long-term vision is to open chapters in every major metropolitan city in the nation so that every single foster child in the US can be supported and empowered to succeed.
