We are thrilled to share that HUT will have its own classroom at La Marque High School in Texas City ISD! Mrs. Amy Walker has great plans to curate this space into one where high school seniors transform into adults each day they enter our classroom. Thank you, UTMB Health for being the inaugural, 2024-2025 school year sponsor of the HUT classroom! UTMB Health Amy Walker Texas City ISD

We teach our HUTs about leadership by actively empowering them to serve in a variety of leadership roles while leading by example. One of those examples is demonstrating that we are all life-long learners. HUT Board Member, Colton Trout, works with Hillary DiRenzo Gramm, to strengthen the work of the board through intentional learning opportunities. Doing so elevates the quality of our leadership! We are elated to announce that Lynn Shigekawa is our newest Board of Director for Higher Up Texas! Lynn is a retired consultant for a variety of non-profit organizations and is a life-long volunteer to others! As a member of the Association of Business Professional Women, Lynn began volunteering in the HUT classes at Dickinson High School to speak on a variety of professional etiquettes and then began offering her expertise on our Tech & Data Committee. Lynn shares, "I have observed the phenomenal growth and success of HUTS over the past three years and have enjoyed working with Hillary and Amy. I would like to be a resource for them and do my part to lay a groundwork for continued intelligent growth and planning for the future." Welcome!!!
