Excited to share the stage with Ireland's Taoiseach (Prime Minister) Simon Harris and the Kerry team at Climate Week NYC. Together with leaders from Walmart, Costco Wholesale, and more, we explored seven scenarios for global food systems, and how the choices we make today will shape the future of human and planetary health. At HowGood, we are proud to partner with sustainability leaders like Kerry to roll out science-backed solutions at a rapid clip. I leave Climate Week filled with energy. When the global food system is in crisis, the leaders of our industry show up, physically in the same room, ready to work together to tackle our biggest challenges head-on.

🌾 Did you know that investing around USD $205 billion into transforming our agri-food systems could generate up to USD $1.2 trillion in returns and reduce global emissions from #agriculture by nearly half by 2030? At #ClimateWeekNYC, WBCSD co-hosted 9 sessions related to the transition to regenerative and equitable agri-food systems and engaged with a number of partner events across the week. Here are some of our top agriculture and food takeaways from the world's largest annual climate event: 📊 Data is an essential tool in the transition, allowing the private sector to harmonize outcomes and metrics, ensure transparency and traceability and build trust through achieving better consumer understanding. Learn more about business outcomes here 👉 https://lnkd.in/eDiSYZeB 📈 Financing models, both in value chain and beyond, must work at scale for farmer and producer communities. Check out our recently launched Financing mechanisms for land-based action – WBCSD (https://lnkd.in/e9GiFTxp) and accompanying case studies Value chain co-financing mechanisms – WBCSD (https://lnkd.in/g5GGsTxx) for more information. 🤝 To reach the scale needed for our solutions to drive widespread impact, the private sector must be more collaborative than ever - both working together across the value chain, and partnering with policymakers, to ensure that policies put the right incentives in place to unlock action. “Data granularity is so important and one of the key drivers behind this partnership. With HowGood, we don’t just see the generalized impact of an ingredient, we can drill into the specific sourcing location, certifications and more. We are especially excited to see regenerative ingredients in the database and look forward to using this tool to measure the positive impact of responsible sourcing in the pet industry.” - Allison Reser, Director of Sustainability & Innovation at Pet Sustainability Coalition, on our recent partnership that will allow coalition members to make data-driven decisions on #ingredient #sourcing and #formulations to reduce #carbon #emissions across their #supplychain https://lnkd.in/eS_GV_Nq

"Almost all fake red meat products will have a smaller greenhouse gas impact than their animal versions, Cecchin explained. Compared to a beef burger, the alternatives “really bring down the carbon footprint — the amount of water we need to use, and the amount of #and that we use” per unit of food. But for other products, the savings are less clear. Chicken, for instance, has a much lower footprint, meaning replacements have to compete against a “very efficient industry and a very efficient meat.”" - Andrea Cecchin, Senior Agriculture and Carbon Researcher at HowGood, on the nuanced emissions impact of various fake meats in Heatmap: https://lnkd.in/eX3N-Hs2

"Transparency in disclosing #greenhousegas #emissions is crucial for boosting product #sales, as it builds #consumer trust and encourages environmentally responsible choices. This, in turn, fuels market #demand for #sustainable alternatives. Just as calorie counts provide essential nutritional insights, carbon labeling will offer valuable information about a product’s #environmental impact, pushing companies toward more responsible production practices and furthering the tide of consumer demand for sustainability." - Lauren Porter, Director of Retail Growth & Innovation at HowGood, in Retail TouchPoints' latest article on the future of #carbon labeling https://lnkd.in/enaPE-wb
