Offering site-specific solutions that fit the unique needs of a customer is at the heart of the work done at our Ohio-based Innovation Center, and our customized cane cleaner is a perfect example. The original model was created in 2015 based on feedback from field employees. This year, our team gathered internal and external feedback to improve the product, minimizing downtime and maintenance while enhancing functionality. What started as a typical shotgun job many years ago has evolved into a tool that increases production efficiency by cleaning five canes in one setup.

On the spookiest day of the year, employees got the party startled with a friendly costume and pumpkin decorating contest that definitely has us feeling witchy. Wishing everyone a fang-tastic Halloween!

We have always placed a high priority on developing our people, our equipment, and our brand for customers in the industry. With this in mind, we have recently rolled out our new Service Quality TOPS (Training, Operations, People and Safety) program, which uses a rigorous and systematic approach to evaluating sites and highlighting workmanship and safety culture. Sites must meet stringent metrics before even being considered for TOPS certification. Congrats to our first certified branch from Covestro-Baytown in Texas.

When a paper company in Ohio came to us with a request to remove four years of hard mineral buildup from a stainless-steel line, we knew that our LineDrive technology could get the job done. Using 20,000 psi, an 8mm lance and a variety of nozzles, we worked through 90 and 45-degree bends, horizontal and vertical sections, and cleared almost 300 feet worth of buildup! (Hard) hats off to our team for working together to complete this challenging job.

We were honored recently with a with GoalZero award from LyondellBasell, at LYB’s 2024 Contractor CEO Safety Conference. The GoalZero program emphasizes health and safety, operational work practices, and contractor management, recognizing companies that completed the 2023 calendar year without a recordable injury. HPC Senior Vice President of Specialty Services Matt DeWitt and Senior Director of Health and Safety Tonya Stevens attended the conference and accepted the award on behalf of the company.

Chicago’s own CM Punk may be the “Best in the World,” but our East Chicago team recently earned a WWE-style belt of their own. As part of our Latin X Employee Resource Group’s annual back school drive, the company holds a friendly competition to see who can collect the most supplies and our employees won! Numerous backpacks, notebooks, pencils, crayons and more were donated to the East Chicago Public Schools. “Giving back to our community is a responsibility we take to heart,” said Branch Manager Pat Oliver. “Knowing we were able to make a positive difference for some local children is reward enough...though the belt is sweet!"
