This article highlights a crucial distinction between companies that have truly embedded DEI into their core business practices and those that reacted to external pressures in the wake of 2020. The latter are now struggling to maintain momentum, as their initiatives were more reactionary than sustainable. On the other hand, companies that have woven DEI into the fabric of their operations - "marbled into the meat," as Frazier put it - are demonstrating resilience. Their commitment is not performative but strategic, and it reflects a long-term investment in creating an inclusive, equitable, and diverse work environment. It underscores the importance of integrating DEI deeply rather than treating it as a trend-driven initiative. https://lnkd.in/e5Ea6XNy . . . #FromtheDeskofDrDom #Leadership #DEIB #InclusiveExcellence #SustainableChange #OrganizationalCulture #BusinessStrategy #EquityInAction #LongTermImpact

⭐ Celebrate Small and Big Wins ⭐
Senior Executive of Human Resources | DEIB & Leadership Strategist | Culture Architect | HR Person of the Year Nominee | DEI Influencer | Forbes Human Resources Council | Chief Member
The New York Liberty just showed us what it means to celebrate big and small wins! Their recent victory was a testament to teamwork, perseverance, and recognizing the efforts that build momentum over time. As leaders, we must remember that progress comes in stages - every small win leads to the big ones. Just like the Liberty’s path to victory, each step forward, no matter how small, deserves recognition. When we celebrate small wins, we fuel the energy that drives big achievements. Today, take a moment to acknowledge someone’s small step forward. Whether it’s finishing a project or making steady progress on a goal, let them know their efforts matter. Like the Liberty’s success, the small wins make the big moments possible. 🏆 💪🏾Find one small win to celebrate today and encourage someone on your team to keep pushing toward greatness. Congratulations to the New York Liberty! As one of the oldest teams in the WNBA, they secured their first-ever championship in the league’s history. And they did it spectacularly - winning Game 5 in the first overtime of WNBA Finals history! 🏀 We were blessed to witness such an epic moment, a special way to end an exciting season.

#FromthedeskofDrDom One of the most powerful leadership tools is listening. Active listening is about more than hearing words—it’s about being fully present, paying attention to both what’s said and what’s unsaid, and responding thoughtfully. Whether leading a team, supporting a colleague, or connecting with friends and family, listening shows that you genuinely value their thoughts and feelings. As leaders, we often focus on guiding and making decisions, but there’s immense power in simply listening. It strengthens relationships, builds trust, and fosters a culture of openness and understanding. Today, take the time to actively listen to someone in your circle. You might be surprised how much it strengthens your connection and helps you grow as a leader. 👂🏾✨ How will you lead through listening? . . . #makesomebodysMonday #ActiveListening #LeadershipInAction #EmpathyInLeadership #EffectiveCommunication #TrustBuilding

The systemic barriers faced by Black- and Hispanic-owned businesses are not only a reflection of inequities within the financial system but also a call to action for more targeted, intentional support. Grants, therefore, serve as a crucial lifeline for entrepreneurs of color, enabling them to access much-needed resources for growth and sustainability in ways that traditional financing often does not. The fact that minority entrepreneurs receive only a fraction of venture capital funding and bank loans indicates that our current financial models are not designed to support equitable economic opportunities. We need to move beyond public relations and commit to sustainable solutions to drive meaningful change. This means advocating for creative funding models and financial products that prioritize diversity and reimagining programs like the Community Reinvestment Act to better incentivize private capital to invest in minority-owned businesses. Transparent, equitable, and innovative approaches are essential to building a more inclusive economy where all entrepreneurs can thrive. Read all about it here ➡: https://lnkd.in/eRabk9xc

A Case for Flexibility...
Senior Executive of Human Resources | DEIB & Leadership Strategist | Culture Architect | HR Person of the Year Nominee | DEI Influencer | Forbes Human Resources Council | Chief Member
Dell’s recent return-to-office directive highlights an important conversation around workplace flexibility. Studies show that over 62% of workers worldwide prefer flexible hours and hybrid schedules, and these arrangements play a significant role in how people manage their professional and personal lives. From a DEIB perspective, flexible work is not just a matter of convenience - it’s about meeting diverse needs and advancing equity. Whether accommodating caregivers, supporting individuals with health considerations, or offering more autonomy, flexible work policies create more inclusive environments where everyone can thrive. As companies navigate the evolving future of work, embracing hybrid models and flexible hours can foster a culture of trust, belonging, and engagement. It’s an opportunity for leaders to respond thoughtfully to their teams' preferences while building sustainable and inclusive workplace practices. 🌟 How to Stay Connected with Your Team When Working Remotely 🌟
Senior Executive of Human Resources | DEIB & Leadership Strategist | Culture Architect | HR Person of the Year Nominee | DEI Influencer | Forbes Human Resources Council | Chief Member
Did you know that 58% of remote workers feel disconnected from their co-workers? 🤯 Staying connected is key to building a thriving, inclusive team - even from a distance. Here are some tips to keep those valuable work relationships thriving and strong - 1️⃣ Be Transparent. Share what you're missing from in-person work with your co-workers—open dialogue builds connections! 2️⃣ Reach Out. A simple "Hey, how are you?" can go a long way. Keep those lines of communication open! 💬 3️⃣ Schedule Check-ins. A 15-minute catch-up chat can make a huge difference. Proactive connection is leadership in action! 🗣 4️⃣ Have Meaningful Conversations. Bring a few topics to the table. This helps create real, engaging connections! 5️⃣ Offer Support. If you're nervous about reaching out, offer to help - making others feel seen is true inclusivity. 👋🏾 Incorporating these small gestures strengthens team bonds and fosters a DEIB-focused environment where everyone feels valued. Make someone’s Monday by showing up for each other and leading with care. 💪🏾 ⭐ . . . #DishingwithDrDom #Leadership #RemoteWork #DEIB #MakeSomeonesMonday #InclusionMatters #ConnectionIsKey

This week, let’s tap into the energy of our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to make Monday a little brighter for someone.
