Every week during our Summer Reading Challenge 'Read, Renew, Repeat,' which takes place NOW through July 31st, we will be taking a closer look at all of the endangered animals author and illustrator Jason Chin used in his artwork for this program! First up, we will be looking at the Red Panda, shown here! Red Pandas are typically found in the Eastern Himalayas and South-western China. Their diet is 97% bamboo! They are classified as endangered, with fewer than 10,000 in the wild with the largest threats listed as poaching and loss of habitat. You may be familiar with Red Pandas from the hit 2022 Disney-Pixar film 'Turning Red!' See if you can spot the Red Pandas around the Children's Library next time you come in! Which animal should we look at next?
