Craig Pierce, a 64-year-old lawyer, suffered a catastrophic stroke due to mismanagement of his blood-thinning medication, Coumadin, by OSF HealthCare System and associated parties. We filed a lawsuit alleging medical malpractice, which culminated in a 2024 jury trial. The jury awarded Craig and Susan Pierce over $41 million, the highest-ever jury verdict in Illinois history for a plaintiff over 70 years of age in a medical negligence case involving failure to prevent stroke.
